OTHER APPOINTMENTS/ACTIVITIES – Including external work
The nature of my work is such that I am fortunate to be able to take up a range of opportunities that support academic work not only in my own institution, but also more widely in Higher Education. So, for example, in my own institution I have accepted a number of additional responsibilities related broadly to the enhancement of academic practice, including being Director of Teaching and Learning for the Faculty of Health, Life and Social Sciences, being a member of the University Teaching and Learning Committee; and the Student Experience Committee. I also chair the Faculty Teaching, Learning and Assessment Committee; a role that results in a number of additional responsibilities representing the Faculty at University level. Examples of my other activities beyond my own institution include working as an external examiner at three different Universities; on both undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. I undertake peer-reviews for a range of professional journals. I am a member of the Staff and Educational Development Association national Scholarship, Research and Evaluation Committee.
I have provided a list, below, of the various additional appointments and activities that I participate in; these are given broadly in chronological order with the most current at the top and Internet links where appropriate.
